Eep. I think I waited too long to read this. Not feeling it at all. Not planning to read the other books.

Every single thing about this book is ADORABLE. I hope they spend every summer together!

I really wanted to like this one. Unfortunately, this is a case where being dumped straight into the action didn't work. Normally I want to jump right in but for this story to catch me, I needed to care more about the characters to have a sense of fear.

My other issue is how the cover and title does not portray the story. The main character says off the bat that she is not girly and doesn't care about dresses and all that. Definitely not the message I got from the cover!

I like that Sarah Dessen departed from her usual and showed us the possible darker side of teenage (and all) relationships. Does it hold up 10 years later? Sure, but I wish someone would explore the demographics of the love interest and reconsider that.

Choosing not to rate this one because I didn't read the original series and it's clear some stuff got lost in translation - particularly the romance.

This book picked up and zoomed through everything so fast. What a whirlwind. And now I have to wait until next week to get the finale!

None of you guys warned me about that ending. THAT. ENDING.
