The reviews on this one are very confusing. What did you expect...they're teenagers lol. I enjoyed it and can't wait to watch the movie!
The way this story is told is unique; less words, more art conveying the message. Really intriguing!
This book has been widely reviewed so I'm going to keep this short and sweet: this is a unique story that doesn't play it safe and deserves your attention. I hope the movie holds up.
Update: the movie holds up and then some. Absolutely incredible. 5 stars, easily.

This is one of those books that is too complex for me to put a rating on it.
A decent follow up to Flawed. Had too much going on and lost direction. Predictable.
Ahhh I really enjoyed this! For those of us who don't enjoy heavy worldbuilding or a lot of high fantasy, this is a dream.
They keep marketing this book as "locked in a library" but that's a relatively small portion of the book. Wasn't super thrilled and likely won't be reading another Kasie West book.
This is one of the first books I left HUNGRY because the author did such a fabulous job of describing glitter mousse, a dessert from an alternative reality. Lucky for us, the author included the recipe to make it in THIS reality and I am SO down!
“Dreams are just another reality, and there are many, many realities,” he explains. “Everyone can visit them in a dream state, though most people don’t have the power to change anything. You and Finn can travel while you’re awake, too. That’s what makes you Travelers.”
Jessa and Finn. Oh, these two. I loved them so much. I'm such a sucker for lovers-across-realities (but the more realistic version where it's not automatic in every timeline - Free will and all). Finn is here to ensure this Jessa doesn't meet the fate that the others have but Jessa is not going to automatically accept that. The fact that she questions is the part of her personality I enjoyed best. The fact that Finn persists but gives space is equally as great.
“I knew,” I say. “I get all of her memories. She gets all of mine. We’re the same person, just in two different places.”
Any time there is alternative realities, you have to consider the science or magic involved as the conduit between worlds. If it's not believable, it can take away from the story. Traveler uses mirrors as the lens between worlds, something I bought throughout the story. I appreciate that the traveling mechanism did not distract but added to the overall feel. Jessa's first time traveling mirrors (ha) how I expect any of us would act - slightly silly and using this new body to our advantage.
Overall the story leaves you wanting more but satisfied by the epilogue. I certainly can't wait for book two!
Also - Pirates. Need I say more?
