Not as good as the first book but not bad. Will definitely be fun for kids.

This volume has gotten a great deal darker though it opens with a chaotic game of basically keep-away until an egg hatched.
I like the story best when it focuses on Kazu, Pandora, Nemo, and Hitomi. A bunch of new characters were introduced and a side character got the spotlight, but I didn’t care too much for it. The artwork is still excellent as usual, but when so much is going on it can get confusing.

Hmm, very fast-paced but not bad. I’m intrigued. The world being shrunk down makes a unique plot. I have to wonder though if any humans are being thrown to and fro when Lucas is crossing people up lol.
I also really like Mitton too. He has some character and personal/internal conflict that makes him interesting. Lully and Lucas are run-of-the-mill as of now, but I want to read more of this story and its characters.

I'm not sure if I liked this or not. Some of the artwork was lovely, Zantana and her boyfriend had a little chemistry, and I liked Zatanna's family.
But oh, did the names Zatara and Zantana confuse me. And Zantana's friends were so boring. You could've cut them out and had nothing change. Same with the villain Allura seemed cartoony. The mystery between Erza and Giovanni is much more compelling than whatever she was on lol.

This volume contains the same sickly sweet, syrupy wholesomeness you would come to expect from this series. Honestly, it’s started to get old for me, but I still think this is an adorable series overall.

Some fun ideas here, but I found the execution to be boring. I would like to get to know more of the kid characters since there are so many.

“The autumn night
Is long only in name—
We’ve done no more
Than gaze at each other
And it’s already dawn.”
I love love poems <3 give me all the ardor and longing and wrap it with pretty words in a burrito. These poems also cover grief and other non-romantic restlessness.
Let’s end on an entirely messy note. Just because there’s love doesn’t mean no drama.
“The bamboo’s
old root
hasn’t changed at all—
Is there even one night
he sleeps at home? No.

This series personally isn't for me. It's too catty and Persephone comes off so infantilized. I don't like the dynamic with Hades either. He gotta be her daddy in both ways, iykyk. It's fun to put a modern spin on Greek deities, but they act as if they're in a reality show. I was waiting for a goddess to crack someone over the head with a wine bottle.
Also, a character biting their lip has never annoyed me as it does here. And how is Apollo walking around like life's sweet??? a whole rapist acting like nothing's wrong.
I didn't enjoy the first book, but I wanted to give it a fair chance by reading the second. I thought Hades questioning his attraction to Persephone was well done. The color direction is still great, and the expressions are funnier in this volume. A part of me feels conflicted rating this so lowly because it's coming from my personal enjoyment not so much storytelling abilities.
