Ooh, the humor is so vapid, but I think that’s the appeal and charm. Just this blonde girl, Bunny, and her roommates with slice-of-life comics, ranging from dating, sex, to existential crises and demon possession. So yeah, normal twenties life.

The art style is also comfy.

A rare shoujo series that beat the “miscommunication” allegations! In addition, I was pleasantly surprised that some of the characters acted maturely, such as Oushi, realizing he had ample opportunity to make his feelings known to Yuki and didn’t.

Emma was needlessly annoying. Girl, stand up.
she basically forced him into a pity date for closure. couldn't she have gotten it by phone??? if this wasn't a shoujo, she'd just be rebounding on Shin.
But that plot point gets tied up quickly and she’s ushered off elsewhere. Thank you.

Yuki and Itsuomi are still relatively bland, but their love is cute. Yuki (tries) to take a more dominant role this time around.

-1 for Oushi’s friend with the bloated fish lips. God awful design.

I hear this series may be getting an anime adaptation soon, so that’s exciting.

Pure fun with a visually-pleasing, expressive art style! Shenanigans arise at a villain con, and I love that Miles is very clear and firm that he's not a sidekick. He's his own Spider-Man.

I liked some of the subversions and the loving family, but ultimately it was a bit boring to me.

This is a rare look at a boy with body image issues/eating disorder without being overly mature. Garvey’s head is in books despite his father’s wishes for him to pursue athletics. He gets teased about his weight and starts trying to change himself in drastic measures. After finding a creative outlet and a new friend, Garvey finally makes a choice, the right one for himself.

I really liked “Facing the Mirror.” This is just our spaceship, y’know.
emotional lighthearted medium-paced

Starts off slow and clunky but revels in its spot on middle school drama, crushes, and growing up

Not for me. There’s nothing here making me want to continue this series. Doudou teeters the line so closely from just being a cartoony/overdramatic character to being "Sambo"-looking-ish.

Pretty fun! I liked how easily the story flowed. The characters meandered from one place to the next, but their goal was to overthrow a tyrannical king. Jo felt perfectly like a headstrong little kid. The lore of the world doesn’t get explained, but it didn’t hinder the story in any way. Stuff just is.

Major Studio Ghibli x Hilda x Storybook vibes.

I feel like the quality and my intrigue is just as high as in the first book. The sequel is darker and has way more despair and gore, but the character’s backstories are more fleshed out. The kingdom of Dahomey once again plays a significant part in Iris’s life. And now we wait for the inevitable.

Can’t wait for book 3!

gosh. Love the long-awaited reunion between Max and Berta, but it’s bittersweet. Max is a much more hardened and callous version of himself. I can’t say if felt OOC because it makes sense, but I was very saddened by it.

And I completely get all the characters not wanting to be doomed, but it’s also what has inadvertently pushed her to the brink. Like, if one person believed in her, she probably could’ve pulled though. But also who can bet their existence on one person? AHHH. It all makes sense, and it’s messy and complicated

slightly unclear but Jinn's the one that killed her right? i was expecting it. her true love betraying her is what would set her off

I ended up liking this more than I thought. It’s covert edutainment a la PBS Kids that shows how VR/ Virtual Reality Augmentation can have its benefits.

In the background, Addie’s withdrawn and subdued after her family fractures. Making a friend and trying out the VR gear changes her perspective.
