I was pleasantly surprised that the conflict of Al being a girl on the baseball team is resolved rather quickly to make way for the true conflict.

It was really good about not deriving someone down to one story. There are two subplots: one about putting yourself out there to make friends and learning not to take no for an answer.

The subplot with Al’s friend Viv was much weaker, and I was not too fond of that resolution.
she just forced her way as the mascot. The other boy was appointed mascot, and she just hijacked his thing when he had been rightfully chosen. It’d been better if they agreed to work together at his suggestion and incorporate the duck or next year the duck became the main person. It just showed Viv couldn’t take no for an answer. You don’t always get your way. And I don’t think she realized how unfair she way being to Cal

I liked the first one better, but this is still cute and fun. Ramm features a different take on fear than most stories
that confronting fear doesn’t necessarily make it disappear. In some cases, it can make it worse.

SN: There were some COOL action sequences here with the Kraken and the flying fish. Was pleasantly surprised there.

I'll always love the sun and the moon falling in love.

History is often told by the victors. Bea and Cad learn what they thought was true may not be.

I enjoy the lore and the magical creatures here. And again, the symbolization of Bea's anxiety and exploration of Cad's survivor's guilt.

I think this could have been fun
a woman cursed to fall in love with different men in the multiverse only to be killed by a grim reaper type character each time.
The artwork was cute, but the story’s repetitiveness made it drag.

Also, the f-bomb is dropped like a middle schooler’s first curse word. It doesn’t even fit the old-timey time period, really.

There is a fun, quirky type of humor here that I enjoyed. The expressions and dialogue are funny too. The mom stood out to me because she’s a hard-as-nails type, but it wasn’t entirely black or white. It’s obvious she’s too tough on her daughter, but she’s not a villain either. I’m sorry, but she was entertaining though from a child’s perspective she’s a prison warden.

Bay Ann has cerebral palsy (and she jokes very flippantly about it), and it’s a constant factor in her life. She wonders if her talent for dance is genuinely well-liked or out of pity from others. Of course, most of the characters affirm her, but some do look down upon her. I think the story strikes a realistic balance that will be relatable to kids in general but especially those with physical disabilities. Some people will look at you differently or be condescending or overly helpful and others will not care at all. In particular, Bay Ann’s friend is just as chaotic and sweet as herself.

Also, there is a random magical-talking cat character that the story narrative barely acknowledges. AND I LOVE THAT as a magical realism fan. It could be a figment of Bay Ann’s imagination or a legit talking cat.  I don’t know, man but it was a good time.

Intense Adult Swim vibes! This started off slowly, but I enjoy it the further I read. It’s very quirky, the story and art style, and won’t appeal to everyone. Dialogue was a little stilted, and you can also foresee a very obvious plot point early on. But it’s still good fun

I enjoy the political intrigue, but I don't buy Azure and Nina for a minute. Way too fast!

On Nina's part, she gravitated to the first person who showed her kindness. On his, I don't know. I understand the author has to give Nina a motive, but no. And how is he supposed to like what the public thinks is his "half-sister" but is not (because shoujo loves convoluted mess)??? >.>
