I really enjoyed the bits about how elderly people and kids aren't always taken seriously, and when
Erin was about to give up. The speech her grandma gave her was great.

Gorgeous artwork but the story is confusing. I feel like it takes you in circles. As soon as something becomes understandable, the story loops around to a different character.

The cursing in this story just made me laugh. Somehow, I felt like it didn’t fit the characters. Normally, Alice would have been annoying, but I liked her as the contrarian. You can tell she was real fed up with her situation. Anyway, this was an interesting idea with a cute art style.
Ehh, Peter Pan suddenly growing up with hormonal urges was a little weird/slightly funny, but the conclusion of that with Tinkerbell was sloppy. I guess he’s going to stay a man now.

I enjoyed it! I realize how ruthless Arty-boy was now that I see his actions illustrated. I think this art style worked great, but some scenes are a tad grosser here than it was in the book thanks to the magic of illustration.
it's been a while since I've read Artemis Fowl, but they cut the ending short of when they find his dad.

Hmmm, I'm intrigued and very glad I have volume two sitting beside me. Usually, I dislike apocalyptic/survivalist stories because they just make me anxious. Still, I love how you can see how different characters react to terror/trauma, it's fight or flight. Adrian is hardcore and callous and thinking way too fast for the others, but, even though I wouldn't like him in real life, he's my favorite character so far. Also, I like how the story is trying to steer away from Adults vs Kids and acknowledges that no one has it all together, y'know. The pacing's fast, and I'm always eager to turn the next page. A good first volume though I have some criticism with Ben, as of now, he's just the generic gentle giant.

Gosh, Adrian is such a butt.
Please, I do not need to see his eyes bleed anymore. He puts the Uchihas to shame. I loved the twist with that letter. His own mother is terrible.
