Pretty good. I keep getting engulfed in these shoujos for one reason or another. Maybe I like rooting for the underdog.

Cute. Nice progression with Nobara's feelings and having to accept them. But we gotta call out toxic behavior. Even though Habuki is my favorite character, he shouldn't be slamming any girl up against a wall and forcing himself onto her. I know, I know it's shoujo and I should be used to it, but that junk ain't cute/kawaii. *cue frowny face*

Anyway, onto volume 6 and beyond. :D

Update: Wow, I'm glad that behavior was called out in Vol 6.

Beautiful and exciting from beginning to end. Action sequences are A1 (motion lines and every angle are fully used) and female characters have a lot of agency and purpose, fighting the big boss fights, making political decisions, and saving/ruining the day.

Also, a nice emphasis on friendship! :D

Now, the ending did get a little cliche.

as much as it would be nice, generally, people don't really band together like that in life or death situations if you're not family or friends. So... when the monk was like no guys, stop and everyone was like if you hurt that old man, then you gotta hurt me. And of course, the warriors had perfect morals because no, way are they gonna hurt an un-armed guy (which is how it should be but most definitely isn't in real life).

So yeah, definitely read this! The artwork is just so bold and expressive and moves the story along quickly. Notable highlights are the fight scenes and Erzi's pretty eyes. Minor spoiler about the ending:

Older Kai (he reminds me of Shikamaru) and Setu looked so adorable.
