This was good. There’s a slight touch of magical realism because a chocolate bar gives Mindy the ability to relive/revisit her past and see where her unhealthy relationship with food began. It also shows how offhanded remarks from friends and family (people who actually/are supposed to love you) can affect someone for a long time. I also wanna give this book a shout out for avoiding shots of vomit, despite focusing on eating disorders/purging. I don’t think I’ve emetophobia or anything, but that was just a pleasant surprise.

I really like the message of this story. Sometimes, we have all these expectations on ourselves as we grow up. Like, I’m __ years old now, I can’t watch cartoons anymore. Growing up is inevitable, but we can still carry our sparks of magic and imagination with us. Also, love the behind the scenes at the end.

I swear there’s a manga for everything, even about chilling and making quirky friends at a campsite. I’ve never been camping, but I think some of the tips here will work for real. Also, the art has a cool quality with the frequent use of vertical hatch lines, very minor but I noticed. Overall, a very wholesome start to this series.

I don’t know if I’ll find myself reading volume two tho. This isn’t really capturing my interest. I found it a bit boring actually.

I loved it! Wonderfully dumb! As a writer, I found the ending super sad though kids will probably find it funny.

This story wanted to be full of twists and turns, but none of them were hitting. Instead, it’s just a disorganized, confusing mess.

First, the artwork is lovely, colorful, and stylized though some shots of Naja feel gratuitous. I loved seeing the color palette change with each new location.

Does Naja hate every country? I was put off by the narrator. I believe this was to show how detached Naja is from the world, but she just sounded like a butthole to me.

Anyway, the story is definitely older. A character is referred to as a “faggot.” It’s twisted as well. Naja’s father beat her repeatedly when she was younger
entirely out of love from his perspective, as he knows how desperately she desires to feel pain.

The ending is too outlandish and disgusting. Were y’all trying to be edgy?
She’s his mom and half-sister. And they were in instalove for the first half of the book. Why do y’all put this incestuous junk in here.

Ultimately, this story wasn’t for me.

More adorably funny and lighthearted goodness! Inu just melts my heart, and Neko's look of disdain hasn't gotten old yet.

I loved this! The mangaka’s dog Inu is so wonderfully dumb and precious, and her cat is so hilariously arrogant and proud (a tsundere for you anime/manga peeps). Neko’s look of disdain at the end of every short makes me laugh. The art style is so cartoony and expressive. I don’t even like cats, but this series warmed my heart. Seriously, it’s defrosting right now from the sheer cuteness and humor of this manga.

This manga is fine for all age and non-pet lovers too. It could easily put a smile on anyone’s face.

So glad I already got volume 2!

I love reading "the art of ____" books because they show you how much work goes into our favorite things. It was a true team effort that made Avatar: The Last Airbender such a masterpiece.

There’s a lot going on here, but it’s still interesting so I’ll keep reading for now. In the beginning, I thought Yatora was getting pretentious, but he’s still down to earth. He just has the majority of his mind dedicated to his craft. He’s also taken a sudden interest in Yuka. One thing I like about Yatora is how sensitive he is and how none of his friends make fun of him when he cries.

Also, I was waiting for these guys to go to blows over ART! You call yourself an artist with those amateur brushstrokes?*villain voice* The tension was there, but it fizzled out. Yotasuke is majorly aggy, but I get his frustration with Yatora.
he’s like the popular guy has to be good at art too?

If anything, this volume reminded me how important composition is to draw a viewer’s attention.
