 Charming.

So I realized this is the final volume. Still, I was able to piece together the story without having read the others. Even with that, some of the conclusions felt rushed. Kwang-Ho's whole arc was confusing.

Now, Superman's warring with two sides was very interesting, and I liked Kenan's struggle with it. I would've liked to see more of the Alpaca/Joker character.

The comradery between Kafka and Ichikawa is so wholesome. I love those older mentor – rookie dynamics though Kafka’s got the same level of expertise as Ichikawa. I hope Ichikawa sticks around. I purposefully didn’t read the summary, so I thought this was going to be one of “2nd chances” type of stories. Well, color me surprised. The plot took an abrupt twist out of nowhere.

This has my interest as of now, so I’ll read a volume two.

Happy to finally put an end to this series. I started reading this years ago, and, while the manga surely dragged and lost momentum in the later volumes by rehashing junk or jumping the shark, Takane and Hana were usually fun age differences aside. As I get older, I’ve less grace for stories with this type of dynamic, but somehow it worked for the manga. I think Takane’s development was one of the best parts of the story.

Some parts of this were very charming, but a bit mediocre overall.  I thought the art style was unique. I loved witty Ymyr! I'd read a book two.
