This could've and probably should've just been the beginning of the second book. In fact, one of the conversations between Meghan and Ash is almost entirely lifted from this novella and dropped into the second book as a flashback. And while some of the plot points may have relevance later, felt like filler, plain and simple. And if these point ARE brought up later, I have a feeling that the author will approach of the same way she did with the aforementioned conversation...in which case...what is the point?
Approaching 3.5 stars. The ending seemed a little hurried, and I had several questions after the book that weren't answered. However, the book was fast-paced and entertaining, and I enjoyed it for the most part.
It's not often that I feel his way, but this book surpasses the first book in the series. I cannot wait to read Beauty of Darkness!
