I wanted to love this story more than I did. But it was still good. Sad, though. Gregor worked so hard to keep his familiar as comfortable as they could manage and no one appreciated him. When he was a bug, everyone neglected him except for Grete in the beginning. It isn't until after Gregor's death that the family finds happiness. What exactly is the message here?

This wasn't a terrible book. The plot was great and the characters were well-rounded. Despite the quick pace of the plot, the style of writing made it feel slow; an oxymoron of sorts I suppose.

This is that kind of book that you have to read and then open your mind to it and realized that it really can happen. I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't happened all ready. This story looks into the souls of human beings and gives us a whole new look on society. If you haven't read this book, yet, you are crazy and need to buy it, borrow it, find it in a ditch and read it now.

I enjoyed the illustrations of this book and I'm okay with the message "be who you are". My main hang-up is the ideology that because a boy likes "girl things" that automatically makes them a girl. I disagree. I think a girl that likes stereotypical boy things is a girl that likes stereotypical boy things. If said girl chose to be a boy that's one thing, but liking "boy things" doesn't equate to transgender. Obviously, this is my opinion. You can disagree with me in the comments.
