I am so glad that I share a birthday with a book like this. I just could not put it down. Definitely worth the hype as it's something that I feel will tragically always be relevant.

This is something I read for a class because I'm doing a research paper and presentation on Dracula and fears in Victorican society. I wanted something supplementary to help back up my claims in my work and this was very helpful. Now this isn't just about Dracula, it's about Bram Stoker and his works. Nevertheless, I still found the whole thing to be very thought-provoking and pretty interesting.

As someone who plays video games (not as much as they used to), I really do appreciate this book. What I like about it is how it shows how much time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears is put into a video game. Doesn't matter what genre or what company, it's a long and daunting process. It shows how important team work is. It shows the passion the gaming developers have and it just makes me so grateful that these people exist.
I really did enjoy reading this book. It got kinda meh in the middle yet I was always wondering what would happen to these people and the video games they were making. Video games have played a big role in my life, maybe more so when I was but still, it's everything. It's great.

I don't know what else to say aside from the fact that this book is very sweet. I do not celebrate Diwali nor do I know much about it, but this book does a good job at telling a story and teaching the reader about the holiday.

This was probably the cutest and most heartwarming kids book I've ever read. I wish that books like this existed back when I was a kid.

Honestly, I appreciated how this collection of essays touched multiple different areas of disability. I couldn't put the book down and whenever I did, I was thinking about getting back to reading it again.

Had to read this for a history class. It was alright. Sometimes I had to skim through or read slowly depending on the topic for a chapter. We've come a long way when it comes to understanding mental health especially in the courtroom, but it's important to know that we have a lot of progress to make.

So I had to read this for a class on UFOs and Aliens in American culture. And tbh, anything that I had picked up in this book was something I had learned from another book or in class. This book is okay. It's not strictly about aliens, it's more about the author's life and government stuff. I mean there's nothing wrong with that but this guy is (in my opinion) kind of chalking himself up to be more than what he is. (I mean this is a guy who went on the Joe Rogan show like bffr.)
I mean, overall this was meh. I didn't feel like it was a complete waste of time but it's nothing astounding. But of course, what I did get from this (and what I'll forever be preaching is) always question the government and government officials.

Honestly, I only picked up this book because the title and concept was interesting. I didn't know that the author was the Icelandic male version of JK Rowling, but I learned that two pages in. His "humor" and most of his descriptions are racist, misogynistic, abelist, and homophobic. Seriously. The way he wrote about the "sound" Munita's boobs make when she walks is nowhere near flattering or respectful. Also found the description of "upper lip looks African" to be....interesting to say the least.
I wasted the whole afternoon reading (and mostly skimming through) this because I still wanted to rate/review this. My account should be more than just the books I enjoyed reading, it also has to be the ones I hated too.
To be honest, I kinda want to write my own version of this. Again, I really did like the premise. The execution was just ass. Fucking awful.

Honestly, this was more interesting than I thought it would be. You have the historical backdrop of WWI and influenza, queerness, and film all wrapped up into one. The ending was interesting and a bit confusing but I still kinda liked it.
