As always RL Stine has shown that horror can absolutely be for kids! These stories are perfectly creepy and perfect for budding horror fans. They aren’t terrifying as to where nightmares are a concern but they’re definitely creepy enough to give that horror tingle you get when a book really creeps you out.

This was a short, interesting true crime story told from the perspective of a journalist trying to help a family through the loss of their daughter when she went missing. This case is still open, as the subject is still missing, but listening to what the family has gone through from the initial missing person report until now was both interesting and sickening. I couldn’t imagine being in their position and I hope I never am. I also hope that their daughter is found, as at this point they have stated it would just be nice to have her remains and to know for sure that she has been found. I can only imagine the heartbreak that statement causes.

Netflix introduced me to Enola Holmes and ever since I’ve been thrilled with her existence. I adore this character and the wild situations she finds herself in as she insists on solving mysteries in a time when this was not something that women did. This one focuses on rabies and the creation of the vaccine. It really hones in on how the vaccine was a lifesaver - literally. It was such a solid story and I really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this story! While it definitely had its moments I wasn’t here for and it took me longer to read than the authors previous works, I still found this enjoyable even through the miscommunication trope that tends to be a dealbreaker for me. I was just invested in the characters and how their little challenge was going to pan out!

I really enjoyed this King Arthur-esque story! King Arthur is a favorite of mine and I am quite picky about how Arthurian legend is handled and I’m not mad at this one! The world building was solid, it was long but didn’t feel long because it was full of action and intrigue which I appreciate. I’m in the mind that one should not use 5 words when 3 would handle it and this book, while long, did not have many instances where this was a case. It wasn’t wordy, it was well thought out and words were used strategically. Much of the length came from dialogue between the characters and I do love a good dialogue. I definitely enjoyed this!
