Kwan writes compelling characters, but they irritate me. I also hate how his novels always have footnotes. If it’s important enough to include, write it into the text. It’s irritating as all hell to have to skim a footnote in the middle of a paragraph so I can learn about some designer

I don’t know what the f*ck I’ve just read. This book was a departure from the rest although it included all the same characters. She finally brought them together in the novel, but it felt disjointed. There really was no chemistry between the entire character list despite them being related.

It went from adventurous romance to a book about a billionaire shooting a laser at an apocalyptic asteroid with a side of one-night stands that stick around. Was not impressed.

There was also an epilogue where the author tells you midway through the main character is pregnant with twins. She had already been talking about this in the first half of the epilogue, so I don’t know why the audience needed it spelled out. I guess we’re so stupid, we thought she was pregnant with a four-legged hermaphrodite.

Meh. Back to very little treasure hunting and a ridiculous side plot. Didn’t really like the couple all that much either, they were dull. Also didn’t understand why the series is about the brothers of cutter cay when this book involves their nemesis. Very little connection to the characters from the other novels

This one at least had treasure hunting in the storyline. I will give the author credit for writing each of her main couples differently, but the insta love is annoying and there’s really nothing outside of the couples’ attraction for one another that adds to the story.

I would prefer more adventure and archaeology than romance

Fast read, intriguing premise. I want more treasure hunting or background of shipwrecks versus past character trauma. Dani’s ex was an abusive prick. Trigger warning for details of abuse.

This was an interesting concept and I truly enjoyed the story. I think it could have benefited from some serious editing. There was a lot of world building for a single novel, so it dragged in some parts

Some new tips I hadn’t considered before. I didn’t like how the author censored swears in her own book - either own it or don’t use them at all. It was exhausting to read sh*t like this. Say it with your full chest.

This book was advertised as a Goonies and Nathan Drake adventure novel. It wasn’t that. A fun little mystery read, but wasn’t what I was expecting based on the description
