possibly a soft dnf. i'm at 24% and not super into it. I dislike all of the characters.... Might pick it up again later.

wow, this was phenomenal. And weird. So very weird. A woman flees to California to escape her dying father and sick husband. She goes on a hike in the desert and finds a giant cactus with a hole, so obviously she enters the cactus and that's where shit gets weird. The rest of the book reads kind of like a fever dream, and manages to be both hilarious and poignant. 

Would have loved if this was longer. It was trying to do a lot, and I'm not sure a novella was the best choice. The story ws really good though.

Solid read, didn't love it. There were altogether too many phone calls in this book. Also, I really need this whole Alex/Casey thing to actually happen - 3 books in and their sporadic communication is super frustrating. Maybe I'll read the 4th book - I really like the nature & animal parts of the books.
