I had a bit of trouble getting into the book at first, but after about 20% i was invested. holy hell this was fun. Book 2 now please!
Super fun, easy read. Predictable but I'm in such a fantasy romance mood that I didn’t mind at all.
soft dnf. i started this during election week and dear god that was a bad idea. this book is way too grim. shelving it until things don't suck.

The word play started to really annoy me. Every paragraph? Totally unnecessary.
I thought this could have been the start of a fun new paranormal romance series. I was wrong.
- The dog dies (I stopped right before that happened)
- The mmc is a limp noodle, seriously annoying and dumb.
- The world building was…. Weird. I thought I was going to get used to it, but I never did
