I wanted to love this book but it stopped being fun after 130
Pages. Hated the animal cruelty - I skipped the cat scene and dnf’d shortly after. Moving on.

I was so hyped about this book but I lost interest pretty quickly. I put it down at page 66 and then a month later realized I never picked it back up. Unhauled it.
I tried to push through and finish because it’s an important story and deserves to be told (and because I paid full price) but MY GOD this book was overwritten. I couldn't do it. Curtis really needed a good editor - I don’t think anyone actually edited this book at all, to the point that I heavily skimmed some sections so I wouldn’t cringe at the writing. It was also super disjointed - like, how did we get here from there? What just happened?
This book could have been so good. I'm so so disappointed.
Ughhhhh. I LOVED Cultish so i'm so bummed about this book.. But honestly, I didn't get the point of it? I wasn't sure what I was learning or why.
yeahhhh, this was 100% not for me. Does Moshfegh write gross & problematic shit to be "edgy"? it's not working.

Wow I was bored. Harry read like an idiot, and I just didn’t give a shit.
I just truly did not care about this book. It was putting me in a slump.
The characters were boring and every chapter ended with "I HAVE OMINOUS SECRETS. SECRETS!". ok cool?
