i'm envious over the amount of things maggie nelson knows :(

currently in the worst depression of my life and realizing that maybe i shouldn't have read a book about the struggles of a family through fifty years that only emphasizes how awfully horrible life can be to the best types of people ... but alas ... here we are

anyways, read this book. truly a beautiful, complicated, consuming story that made me cry at work. i loved it so much.

this is truly a work of art. siken, i want to eat your talent.

can y'all believe I FINALLY FINISHED THIS ?! anyway. ocean vuong, you brilliant poet. i am taking notes.

female friendships oh wow the power they hold

oh my god,, this !!! book !!! while reading, i could almost feel it seeping into my skull. it is going to be festering there for quite awhile.

maggie nelson does it again ! no one is surprised

MY FIRST FIVE STAR READ OF 2021 ?! OMG !

okay. so yeah. this book is just all about the yearning and like painful foreshadow and soulmate behavior and blah blah basically all of my favorite things. also it emotionally destroyed me so badly that now i am just a beaten up pulp of limbs and bones on my floor. i literally have never sobbed like that over a book. so. yeah. read it.

madeline miller you are a goddess walking among men. i want to be you when i grow up.
