These little books are GREAT! I want them all! I bought this book in London's Gatwick airport while on a layover and was nearly finished by time our plane was called. They are wonderful pocket-sized books, perfect for traveling.

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy Spinelli's writing?! This is my mother's favorite Spinelli book, but "Stargirl" still is tops with me.

Again, I highly recommend anything Spinelli! :)

This was a great historical young adult novel about life in the 1940s. I hate the prejudice against an innocent German artist, but it was typical of that time period.

I started reading this book right after I made some huge blunders at work where I should have trusted my gut, but didn't. At least I'm not the only one, according to Gladwell! This book is about the 2 seconds of "nonthinking" that guides our judgment and why it's so important.

I read her 400-page book in less than a week in preparation for her visit to our local library and my subsequent interview with de los Santos. It was very quick and "Desperate Housewives"-like; toward the middle it got a bit predictable but not so much that I stopped reading.

Just like "Fast Food Nation" and "Super Size Me," this book talks about food as FOOD -- not nutrients and not processed. Pollan says to eat food our grandmothers and great-grandmothers would recognize. He stresses that human diets should be mostly plants with meat as a side dish.

This is another young adult book I recommend. It reminded me of a younger version of Ira Levin's "This Perfect Day," which is one of my favorite books. Society is carefully monitored and ruled with young Jonas given the high honor by his community of Receiver of Memories.

There are so few survivors left of the horrors of 1940s Germany that it's important to hear their stories and preserve their memory. Books like this help keep their struggle alive and help prevent it from happening again.

I have tried to read this book several times and I just cannot get through it. I know it was award-winning, but it just didn't appeal to me.
