I received this book prior to interviewing the author, who was a math professor at a local college. He's a really fascinating guy, and although I'm not a huge fantasy fan, I really enjoyed this debut novel. Did I mention the author's has a doctorate in math? How bizarre to find someone who works well with both sides of his brain!

Also, this is the first book in a trilogy ... read it!

Again, I really enjoyed interviewing this author and I found this an engaging fantasy story.

This is a great book of Southern short stories ... and it helps if you're from the South and know what Franklin's talking about.

I admire the late, great George Carlin, but this book was much better the first time around when I saw it as an HBO special.

This book is not for the faint of heart ... it's graphic and disgusting. But you will laugh your ass off while reading it. And when people stare at you in the coffee shop, all you can say is "Gotta read this book!"

This is not the typical memoir; it's very detailed, almost like a textbook. This guy is really smart, but sometimes I missed how much his disorder affected him emotionally.

I'm such an Ellis fan after "American Psycho" ... I read this book when I was in a "reading slump" to get back in my groove and I'm so glad I did. The movie was a pretty accurate portrayal, even though some of the characters were combined.
