Thank you Amazon Original Stories and NetGalley for the DRC of The Fall Risk! All opinions in this review are my own.

Despite the cute cover, The Fall Risk deals with some darker topics than I thought it would (there are trigger warnings in the beginning). Overall, it's hard not to fall for Charlotte and Seth. They are definitely some of my favorite characters that Abby Jimenez has written, especially Seth with his tree facts!

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the DRC of The Business Trip. All opinions in this review are my own.

In the beginning, I could ignore how simple the writing was because the mystery was so intriguing. However, I only made it two chapters into Trent's part (Part 3) and I can't do it anymore. I get that the author is trying to make this character unlikable but this seemed over the top. I couldn't keep reading the sexist and anti-trans rants just to find out what happens.

The Slowest Burn

DID NOT FINISH: 11%

Thank you St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the DRC of The Slowest Burn. All opinions in this review are my own.

I could not believe the amount of information I learned about these two characters in such a short amount of time. I was already hesitant when I found out that the FMC's husband passed suddenly a few years ago and she lives with his parents who are still actively greiving him because I wasn't in the mood for such an emotionally heavy romance. I like the concept that she is a ghostwriter for cookbooks and the MMC just won a cooking competition so I wanted to keep reading, but I felt overwhelmed by the amount of information we learn about the MMC. He is short, has red hair, ADHD (which may or may not affect his reading ability since he needs everything read aloud for him), and he is mostly ignored by parents. I felt like the author leaned a little too hard into the opposites attract trope and was trying too hard to make it clear that the MMC is the "wrong" choice for the FMC, which unfortunately stopped me from really connecting with either character. Maybe it gets better but I also am trying to get better about recognizing when books aren't for me and DNFing them.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the DRC of No Ordinary Duchess! All opinions in this review are my own.

I completely understand why Elizabeth Hoyt gets the reputation she does and this will not be my last historical romance by her! I had so much fun reading No Ordinary Duchess! It is amazing how Hoyt is able to create such lovable characters while also including so much mystery and action! There were some parts at the end that I didn't love, but overall, this one ranks high on my list of historical romances!

Thank you Simon & Schuster Audio and LibroFM for the ALC of Oathbound! All opinions in this review are my own.

I absolutely loved the first Legendborn book so I'm always excited for another book in the series! However, I don't know if it's because I listened to Oathbound versus reading it or if it's because all the main characters were split up so there were multiple storylines to follow, but I felt like it took me forever to finish it.

Despite that, I enjoyed Oathbound more than Bloodmarked and per usual, Tracy Deonn left me with an ending I needed to reread (or in this case relisten to) because the shock at the end is too good. I cannot wait to see where the series goes from here!

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the DRC of Karaoke Queen! All opinions in this review are my own.

I've only heard good things about Dominic Lim's books and Karaoke Queen did not disappoint! While Karaoke Queen is a really fun read, it also handles sensitive topics and moments well. Even though it is a romance, Karaoke Queen is really the journey of Rex accepting himself and finding someone who will celebrate all parts of him. I just wish Rex ditched Aaron and got with Paolo sooner!

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the DRC of Deja Brew! All opinions in this review are my own.

I love Freya Grove and the idea of the romance being between a witch and a magician! Unfortunately, I didn't feel like there was enough tension between Sirena and Gus to sustain the whole plot. Although they try to stay on the just friends side of things in the beginning, we knew pretty early on that they both are crushing on each other and they even kiss early on in the book. I feel like when the characters get together so early, something else needs to get in their way besides pretending that they don't actually like each other.
