I mean is a review even needed? There's hundreds out there. It was great. Some said they were bored at the beginning, and I did not find that to be at all. I enjoyed the whole story!
Thank you to the publisher for a free copy of this book!
I was so excited to get approved for the Netgalley of this 2024 release. This series is just a lot of fun.
I flew through this book, as always with this series. I love that each book we learn more about Vero and she's not just a side character. The involvement of Finlay's family was also fun in this book.
The case was very in depth, which I appreciated. It was not just some basic crime, but of course there are more bodies. There are always bodies. :) Cosimano truly writes a mystery that keeps your engaged.
Are some parts 100% unbelievable? Yes. Do I really care? Not really. Maybe just the garage scene.
But as always, I highly recommend this series.

Not going to lie. I went into this with low expectations because I kept seeing not great reviews. After reading, I feel as if people went into this thinking it would be like the Guncle. The Guncle had heavy moments, but The Celebrants is heavy from start to finish.
We follow a group of 5 (were 6), and at their friend's funeral they decide that each one of them gets one funeral while they are alive. This is when they need it. When they're having a moment in life where they feel at the bottom.
While the story begins, it floats back and forth between the Jordans (present time) and the past. The past includes some college life. Then throughout the book, we get closer to 2023. Between the present day Jordans chapters, we get to see when each friend pulls the funeral card.
I thought this book was amazing to be honest. I loved the story and I found myself getting emotional at each "funeral".
Why I took one star was the format. The section for each funeral was long. And I am fine with that. But instead of making chapters inside each section, Rowley wrote them as one long chapter. So I felt like there was not a good place to stop. I can see why this turns readers off as 40 page chapters don't do it for a lot of people.
But I recommend. I think this is a great story about friendship and how life changes but those friendships can last.

Different, but lovely. Habeck wrote a love story that wouldn’t seem like one. But it was. All I’m saying is page 157.
I did not like the main character at all. I thought her relationship with the kid was weird. Then I read a couple spoiler reviews and I will not be continuing this book.
Really enjoyed this novel by King. It dragged at a bit in the middle, but I think that can be said about most of his books. However, the ending was fantastic.
These 336 pages felt like 500. The plot was good and I enjoyed the story, but at times I felt like it just dragged.
3.5 rounded down
Thank you to Celadon & Netgalley.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I liked the characters and each had their own little storylines. But it felt a tad underdeveloped. It was hard to believe that Tara would come out of prison and all these things would fall into her lap.
I think I could have gotten past the abundance of predictable moments, but at the end we just got left hanging. What happened? Can I get an epilogue or another 50 pages?
If you like family dramas, pick this one up.

This book was an absolute page turner for me. I found the twists interesting. My only "issue" was there was a lot of times when people were narrating they were calling everyone else you. Until I got used to it, it was kind of annoying.
Thanks to the publisher for a free Netgalley.
I have never hit it off with Knoll's writing, as I have not finished a book she has written yet. But the synopsis of this story pulled me in. And this was quite the story. I loved hearing this story from the perspective of the women and not a story idolizing a serial killer.
The way Knoll wrote Pamela's perspective was really in depth and I felt captivated. I needed to know Pamela's story and how she grew in her life. I will not lie and say that the Ruth sections were that interesting. I feel some of her sections could have been way shorter. Her section at the end was 100% necessary, but I def feel some of her inner monologue in the sections could have been cut.
Overall, I highly recommend.
