DNF at 23%. FFS. I obviously am just done with JH's books. I understand she is well liked and I am obviously in the minority. She is also probably a wonderful person. But every book she writes is 100 pages too long. I love the telling through emails, texts, chats, etc. But 400+ pages it gets a tad repetitive.

Jem was one the most childish characters ever for an adult. Every email she wrote was the same repetitive information. By the time I stopped reading, I just went and looked at spoilers because it was just easier. And I am happy I stopped reading. If that would have been the ending after that long, I would have felt annoyed.

Thank you to the publisher for a Netgalley of this one.

Darby Kane gave us an absolute page turner. Addison and her husband, Richmond, clearly do not like each other. And we find out why in pieces.

What I really enjoyed is how there were a few times I was wrong, but also a few times I was right. I felt compelled to put the pieces together and get to find out what the wife knew!

7/15 SSYRA books.

Kids will enjoy.

SSYRA 6/15

Super cute. Kids will enjoy.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy.

I really enjoyed this one! I thought reading it in the kindle was super easy bc when you made a choice you could easily flip back to change it.

The premise of the dif storylines was fun and when it all came together, I really was happy with it.

Very creative and really fun!

Book 5/15
Students will really enjoy this one.

Book 4/15 of SSYRA

Kids will enjoy this one as well.

Thank you to the publisher for a Netgalley.

I went back and forth on this rating and settled on 4 stars. The overall plot itself was a 5 star for me. The pacing was a 3 star, so I settled in the middle.

When up and coming girl band, BIttersweet, get into a horrible car accident everything changes. With most of the band dead, one missing and one surviving, the story starts off running. Vienna & Madison's story though goes way back, which is where we spend time. As McKinnon flips back and forth from then, to the accident, to after the accident, it may feel like a lot of timelines. But it is not.

What I struggled with was at some point, I needed the story to stop diving into the past so much. It felt a smidge repetitive and it sometimes slowed down the current plot line. I am not talking about cutting out chunks of plot, but at times I didn't want to be stuck in the past pre accident.

With that being said, once this book took a certain turn, I was like and there it is. The reason I kept reading. The last 50% flew by for me and I couldn't stop reading. Highly recommend.

Book 3 of 15 for 24-25 SSYRA books.

Sports kids will enjoy.

DNF 50% started so strong. Now we’re just switching POVs when it’s not their story I care about anyways. Flipped to the end. Happy I didn’t commit to the rest of the middle. Had high hopes.
