This book felt like two very distinct books, that would have benefited from being two separate novels. That were fleshed out instead with more world building, and character development, Possibly even another POV. (I'd recommend Jenny since we see her once already at the beginning of the book.)
But instead I was left feeling like I picked up two 62,000 word fanfics, possibly set in a series. But when you are reading these it feels like you are supposed to already know about this world and the events within it. You know more about the other characters because there is more to base them off of.
AND IF IT WAS I would have very likely thought it was an awesome fic.
BUT THIS IS NOT THAT! So you are left wanting.
Which stinks because Mikuta begins touching on some really interesting ideas but none of them are really delved into, they are something that we only get as an afterthought towards the end.
I also would have loved to have known more about how they were running the city once they took over and how community may have looked different between those coming from the badlands and those from the cities...

This is an incredibly sweet nerdy office romance, it felt realistic in how Seto initially enters the relationship as an experiment, to learn about himself. There is a bit of a power dynamic given that Seto is both older then Jin, as well as his superior.
I did enjoy Seto's continual references to his life in terms of software development.
This book also is more spicy then it had any reason to be, like every chapter has a sex scene in it. In the end it felt like it would be much better as fade to black scenes. Because these don't really add to the story, when I found myself stepping away from this while reading I would forget that this was spicy at all to then be startled the Next time it popped up.

So the beginning of this book pulled at my heartstrings and the end had me ugly crying at my desk while I was trying to cut out things.
Everything in-between, was less impactful for me. The world was really intriguing but we see so little of it. I feel like I could have come to a similar emotional reaction to something roughly half this size.
Like I really spent the middle portion of this book contemplating how Death-Cast works. My initial idea was that it was some type of AI who consumed all the Medical, Social Media, Security, etc information and made those calls based on that. But the more I read the more sure, I became that this probably had to be more fantastical. Because the placebo effect of people believing they were going to die and therefore not fighting for their lives or living dangerously.
Honestly while I enjoyed the love story between Mateo and Rufus.
The actual words these characters spoke felt incredibly like they had been pulled from a generic book about grieving or coming to terms with your own death.
I think this premise could have been way more interesting and I also found myself kinda grossed out by the fact that Death-Cast is kinda written like a God, that is never, ever wrong. While somehow stated that Death-Cast doesn't know HOW someone will die, just the specific 24 hour time span that they will die.
The way Death-Cast exists honestly negates free-will and somehow this is never discussed in this book.
Honestly throughout the story, I continuingly thought the story that would have been more interesting if it had been about someone struggling with suicidal intent. Rather then watching them seem to be treated like pariahs.
I Also CANNOT be convinced that Peck does look identical to Brock from 13 Reasons Why.

This book was interesting, both in art style and overall content.
It is like spooky stories, to tell in the dark, but add an art style that even more firmly pulls you in.
I love that the stories are based around what would have been historical scary stories, urban legends, etc. It made me want to seek out more of these stories. Because as I was reading Suárez's work I had chills going up my spine.
*I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for a review, all opinions are my own.*

This is an informative book for those who may not know a lot about the people with disabilities and what those can look like. It also goes into what the history of Disability looks like, though only briefly and it did feel like a sanitized take on what the past looks like.
I did enjoy the look at culture looks like in different settings such as in the medical field. But what was interesting was the sections on how to make our world accessible to all to allow for independence along with the outlook for the future.

To say this left me shook feels like an understatement, Ranghiasci's art is as haunting as the pictures I remember first seeing as a young child, but also having this story told in the way it was naritavely felt very different from how I was initially introduced to this piece of history. I felt like it was impactful in such a different way,
This book would be such a great way to introduce this topic, rather then just diving into the history.

400 pages is rarely to much for me, but I found the contents of this to be overall "too much" for me, and I found little reward in trying to push forward.
I was definitely not the demographic for this Manga. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

This is the kind of book I wish I could hand to my younger self, as someone who can't conceptualize a time in my life where Depression and Anxiety were not ever-present in my life, and unlike Olivia's parents, who strive to help her, my mother's response that was that everyone felt that way, so I just needed to suck it up and go on with life,
This would be a great book for a young one who is just beginning to learn about their mental illness, as this is a beautiful story about growth, support, and learning to vocalize your needs.

This was not what I was expecting, and ended up being away more in-depth look at the concepts of art (Color, line, etc) than I have initially expected. I did find it to be an interesting read,
This had some good recipes, but I ended up feeling like it didn't offer anything new or interesting.
