This is trash. A catholic demonologist and a cop by day? Yes let’s abuse power 24/7.
The author makes a note that individuals who are heavily devoted to god are more likely to come into the crosshairs of demonic possession, well happy to report my lack of zealot church going has kept me safe.

Listen we’ve all had some bad dates, some worse than others. Well Poppy decided to share some of her most disastrous dates. In this memoir we get to experience 28 of the worst dates Poppy went on over a span of 20 years. A few of these had me chuckling out loud, but towards the end I was getting a bit tired. I get it we had 28 days, but they became repetitive.
There’s a shared experience here, that yeah, most of us will meet some less than desirable men and maybe even date them, but given how many bad dates Poppy had, maybe it is a “it’s me not you” situation?
I was a bit put off with her body shaming some of these dates, and the constant never ending mention of veganism.
But don’t worry the book ends of a positive, Poppy is a happy successful 40 something year old, living and loving her absolute best life.
BookSirens and Poppy were gracious enough to provide me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

This has some great bones and has the potential to be an amazing series. I loved the idea behind the story of a supernatural private investigator who can talk to ghosts, plus the small town vibes. It’s a win win. I ADORED Eli as a character, her humour and quick wit had me beaming and rooting her for from page one.

The writing gets a bit frazzled and I found myself confused a few times pulling facts together and I think some fleshing out of some back details and side characters would have really helped tie this together in a more cohesive manner. All in all a really enjoyable read and I can’t wait to see this author and series grow and get better.

Thank you BookSirens and Jennifer for the ARC and allowing me to provide my honest review.
