This is too boring and too long. There's no end in sight. I wanted to like this but it keeps dragging on and on and I have nothing to wait. The interesting bits from the first book haven't been mentioned and I don't have the will power to keep reading.

UPDATE: Taking one star off because what was that ending???? After thinking about it more it feels super rushed and the last 10% needed to more explanations. There are so many plot holes and the resolution didn't feel complete. After 5 books this was supposed to wrap up so much but somehow it all was supposed to happen in the last 50 pages??? Maybe this book should've been 200 pages longer.

I fucking loved this book but I'm a little confused about the ending. Also, I was expecting more from this finale. I feel like some stuff was left out or not explained.

Like, it could've been more detailed about how the Syndicate worked or what it was doing. A lot of it was just implied. And I was really curious about the man in charge of the whole operation but he was just some random guy??? It could've been a bigger plot point. And like, what's the deal with Victor? He was barely mentioned but then suddenly he was running away with someone and had died? And I feel like I skipped a chapter because how the hell did Lyla and Tristan end up in that basement where Morana was kept? Am I stupid?

I fucking loved it! It's like a dark rom-com, kinda like Butcher & Blackbird but it's also masktok and way smuttier.
mysterious slow-paced

So, I wasn't in the mood for a slow-burn dark academia.

This was super gripping and creepy. I've never been so glad to live in an apartment building.

It was good I was just wasn't totally into it.

I didn't foresee myself going back to the Shadowhunter world, but I was in desperate need of an audiobook and this was conveniently available. So I guess I'm going back.

This book just wasn't the same as TMI and TID but I'm sure most of it just because it's been so long since I read them and I'm not into them in the same way I was before. But I had great time at work (for a change) while listening to this and I actually paid attention to the audio.
