This is an odd mix of high fantasy and pop culture references like "resting bitch face" and "mansplaining" that comes across as very juvenile despite being categorized as adult and having sex scenes and a bit of kink too. I didn't find this in any way captivating and the trials to win the prince's hand in marriage but also being a ruse to find a particular someone who's definitely the MC even though she doesn't realise it herself is pretty overdone and annoying and only works when done properly and this wasn't it.

Some parts of this made absolutely no sense in audio format.

I didn't like this quite as much I liked the previous books but I liked this one differently. I liked how natural the romance felt and how they both needed to come to terms with it before this became a romance.

The books in this series are starting to blur together and remind each other so much.  I really hope the next one is different.
