I read this because I got burnt out and I hate my job and boss but this didn't feel as therapeutic as I was hoping it would.

This was a really short book so it felt very insta-love and also the world-building/magic system was really messy and poorly explained.

I did not love this. There's a weird mix of nothing happening but also too much going on for anything to make sense. Bits and pieces of lore and world-building that you keep forgetting so nothing really makes sense.

The romance was mid. I didn't really like the main character and the love interest is just like every other mmc and doesn't really have any other personality traits other than being in love with the fmc.

Well what the fuck am I supposed to do until the sequel comes out?
