I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK FROM START TO FINISH. IT WAS SO VIVID AND BREATH TAKING. I CANT WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL.

Fast paced, heart wrenching, easy read. I don't think I've read any fantasy that doesn't involve magic but I love it. I regret putting off reading this for so long.

The writing in this book was absolutely beautiful. I have so many quotes tagged and it's only 250 pages.
At times the story was hard to follow though.
In the end, it was the story of three teenagers trying to find their places in the world. One girl was trying to write her own story. Another girl was trying to find out who she was and how to be that person. And a boy was trying to figure out how to come to terms with so many things.

I loved this book but found myself confused at times. It was beautiful and emotional and I'm left wanting more, to find out more about these characters.

I love Despina and I want an entire book on her

I wanted there to be more pirates than there were but I really enjoyed this book. it was a fun, quick read. The romance was done well and the characters were well rounded.
