I really really enjoyed that book and it would have easily been a 5 star read sadly at one point they said "toast is just bread that's been toasted" and I had to take away one star because toast is not bread. yes this is petty af but I will die on this hill.
the othet half star went away for the ending and the romance like I liked dash and arran
absolutely did kot enjoy cormak and vesper like where was the pining where was the slow burn and they end and half a chapter kater they makeup again? that was unnecessary imo

apart from that: great book

when I started reading the book I almost immediately stopped when it was revealed that he maestro was german. like I know that was not the intention but my mind was like: a cool because german people are cruel makes sense... which I hated
luckily I only read on oublic transport so I had to take a break and today I did not have that thought even once which is why I could actually acknowledge the story and all which was very nice

I am thankful for the way this book ends for a moment I thought I would absolutely hate the ending so thank  for not making my feras come true

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
not to be mean but when the protagonist says: I'd rather die than be a slave and then doesn't take the opportunity to die 3 sentences later then idk what I am reading
