Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac

This is a high spice reverse harem set in the fae equivalent of modern day.

There is a gratuitous amount of spice, both in quantity of scenes and in content within those scenes.

With that warning out of the way. I effing LOVED my time reading this series. The world is absolutely amazing, the plot is captivating, and the characters are fun and diverse. I spent time outside of reading theory crafting and trying to get to the bottom of all the mysteries using the clues throughout the books.

For my personal tastes, the series could have halved the number of intimate scenes. They frequently felt as though they cheapened some emotionally impactful moments. I lost my taste for them at points, especially as they would distract from the plot.

Would I recommend this series?
Yes.
Would I have warnings before encouraging people to read them?
Also yes.

I think these books are a fun and engaging read with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed my time, and would encourage anyone who loves a fantasy plot, murder mystery, and high spice content to give them a try.

Ranking the boys:
Ryder > Leon > Dante > Gabriel

Remember! Not all books are gourmet meals, sometimes we're craving a heaping pile of junk food!

This book is written in a way that feels very reminiscent of reality tv and gives off junk food for your brain vibes.

It's by no means a literar master piece, but it's a wild ride from start to finish.

Think "Cruel Prince" + "Harry Potter" + "Vampire Diaries" with heavy emphasis on school bullying tropes, magical educations, and villainous royals.

I had fun, I read it quickly, and I'm diving straight into book 2.

There is no universe in which a sexually explicit reverse harem needs to feature a freshly 17 year old girl. There was ZERO benefit added to the plot, and NOTHING would have changed if the setting had been a group of 20 year olds in college vs 17 year olds in high school. This is sick and pedophilic.

The story was interesting, and I would have enjoyed continuing, but the only thing that made it palatable was mentally altering their ages.

I will never recommend this series, and I refuse to support this author if they continue to write about literal minors having explicit sexual interactions.

I'm not a prudish person by any means, however if your story features minors, your intimacy should be closed door or fade to black. If you wish to include detailed descriptions, then simply age up your charaters appropriately.

This book was a miss for me.

Although the premis was interesting, the book struggled to grab my attention. Starting the book with four separate povs in the first four chapters was a questionable choice given writing style. It's difficult to get your footing or form an attachment to any character when you are constantly swapping with little to no driving plot established.

Additionally, the chapters contained too much unnecessary descriptive fluff. This caused the pacing to feel extremely tedious and slow.

I DNFed at 22%, 64 pages, start of chapter 8.

These opinions are a reflection of my personal preferences and should not be used as a reflection of the author's skills or body of work.
