This could’ve been an interesting take on the age old sci-fi trope of human cloning and space colonization, but it just wasn’t. Mickey is at times a delightful narrator and at worst eye-rollingly annoying. The women in this book, unfortunately, exist simply to bolster his journey.

This book is a marvel. It completely recontextualizes its source material and puts a spotlight on a character we only barely know. It’s witty, it’s profound, it’s adventurous, it’s heart wrenching—it’s an absolute blockbuster of a book.

This is billed as an "adult fantasy", but it has the tone and style of a high schooler in the year 2014.
I really suffered while reading this; HOWEVER, the last third of it was truly a good time. Tbh I enjoyed almost every aspect of this book that was not the romance (straight people are w i l d). The revenge porn definitely has to go though.
