I love a good rock and roll story, the grit, the wild, the ruin. It took a turn that I hadn't expected, but enjoyed. Despite the darkness, it's an appealing life for many, which is why this story has a timeless quality and could easily have been told in any decade.

I love the story so much that I look past the amount of times Yarros uses some variation of "brows knit" or how many times Xaden's eyes were referred to as Onyx.
