Oh what fun! I wanted to scream at the characters (in the best way) because... wow. I'm very glad this book was recommended to me!

Cute, not too deep into grief that it's hard to wade through. Predictable for the most part, but still an enjoyable read. I don't think I'm the type to enjoy the

"SO dies and MC ends up with SO's BFF"

trope, but this one was also tied into the

"childhood unrequited love"

trope, which I'm also not a big fan of. I saw it coming right away and although I was hoping against it the entire way, I ended up not being too bothered because I did like the way it happened. 

It gets a 3, but that's mostly for nostalgia. I appreciate the theme of eternal youth, I never realized there was such heavy commentary on the two sided coin that is sexism. The racism goes without additional comment, it is well known that this beloved story has not aged well in that respect. Nevertheless, there is something ageless about the Pan man as there continues to be film adaptations and novel re-tellings to this day. 

There's so much to unpack in this novel about an arranged marriage that follows an unexpected course. I found Afi to be extremely relatable, despite the fact that she often acted as a very spoiled teenager. There's a heavy dose of frustrating supporting characters in which we, along with our heroine, must endure along the way. It's always very enlightening to read about different cultures and traditions, especially getting to see things from a different viewpoint. Ultimately, I enjoyed going on this journey with Afi and find myself thinking of the other women in the story and their perspective of the events as they unfolded. I'm glad this book was recommended to me, and I pad on the recommendation to you!

Perfect for those riding the 70s fictional rock roller coaster that is Daisy Jones and perfect for those who wanted to like Daisy but struggled with the interview format. But it's so much more than that! Ursa Major branches off in unexpected ways and ended most in a satisfying manner. I truly enjoyed this debut and look forward to her next book, whatever it may be.
