My first ever Kristin Hannah novel did not disappoint! I rated 4.5 stars because it took a little longer to get into than I would’ve liked, but it’s worth reading!

I didn’t hate it, but also don’t feel like I was the right audience for it. I would still recommend if you’re looking for a comedic fiction with a great balance of real life emotions and experience!

This is my second book by Sager and while I liked this one better than The Only One Left, I was disappointed at the “thrill” aspect of this thriller. I found the twists to be predictable and I saw all of them coming a mile away. I did find several of the plot lines in to be very sad and I even teared up once which I didn’t expect to feel out of a thriller novel. If you enjoy Sager, I imagine you’d enjoy this too!

For a novella this was jam packed with story, action, and romance! I’m loving this series so far!

This story hit me in all the right feels. My grandma was my best friend and her passing in 2015 when I was 21, destroyed me. Reading Noelle’s journey to learning about her Grams and her love story to Paul was everything I didn’t know I needed. Add in a super cute enemies to lovers trope between Noelle and Teddy and this book basically has it all! This is going to be a multiple time reread for the rest of my life. I felt connections to my grandma that were so so special.

Unwanted instantly captivated me from page 1. It begins with a heartbreaking story of survival and as the story progresses we gain mystery, intrigue, sadness, love, and found family.

The story is unique with a MMC that is a Mowgli/Tarzan mix, but lives in the mountains instead of the jungle. I was unsure how I felt about Lucas at first, but he grew on me quickly.

The reason this story is 3 stars is the mystery and thrill that kept me captivated died off about halfway through. It felt a bit too focused on the romance and not enough on the mystery. I struggled with knowing which part of the story was meant to be the plot. The mystery or the romance? If the story had been a bit more cohesively tied together, I would’ve enjoyed it more.

Overall, for it being my first Mia Sheridan novel, I enjoyed it and I look forward to reading her other books. I’m also open to continuing this series as it progresses. There’s a lot of promise!

I really enjoyed this story! I grew up loving the myth of King Midas, so I knew I wanted to read this when I first saw it. The author did an amazing job weaving the classic story of King Midas with the historical story of the real King Midas. I was hooked from the beginning! There’s adventure, love, heartbreak, and magic. What could be better? Highly recommend if you love a historical fantasy!
