Too on the nose with real life echo chambers 

Reads like young adult if not for the spice, and the twists are a bit too easy to spot

Felt like a female version of an edge lord to me. Really cringe narrator.

It was probably original for its time, but represents a trope that I am not interested in sadly. 

I didn’t find the initial ‘enemies’ set-up to be realistic and it made me want to eyeroll every time I read ‘he growled XYZ’. Loved the rest of this series though!

Lost interest about halfway through. Repetitive situations and really frustrating FMC who has no self confidence (I assume the goal is for her to develop it, but would expect to see progression within the first half). Other characters fall flat.

Writing style is immature and characters not relatable. 

Couldn’t get into the writing style (cursing for the sake of it, etc.)

Reads more like Young Adult fiction than NA
