I have so much to say about this book but I have to be up in 4 hours so I’ll wait until later today lol just know, I would read anything and everything written by Alison and I loved every single word of this book!!
If I could give this book 5,000 stars I would!! It’s possibly stolen the top spot of my favorite book of the year? There’s honestly so much I want to say about this book and I know they’re just going to come out in a jumbled mess but let’s see how it goes
3.5 stars! The first half of the book felt super dragged out for no reason but the second half was so good!
It was kind of anticlimactic? Half of me really enjoyed this series and the other half of me didn’t but wanted to? lol I think I just didn’t love the plot but I adored the characters so I think my overall rating for the series is 3.5-4 stars but I’m not sure yet, it’s one I’m gonna have to think on
This was a powerful, heartbreaking, candid memoir written by Jennette and I couldn’t recommend it more (with some caution)! It took me a couple weeks to get though this one because of how heavy it is and how triggering it can be so I had to space out my reading of it to be able to take care of my own mental health. So if you want to read this book, just make sure you look up trigger warnings and be safe! One of the biggest trigger warnings I can give is eating disorder imagery. There’s a lot more that I will list below but there is a lot of very graphic depictions of her eating disorders pretty much throughout the entire book. So just be prepared for that when reading!
I think memoirs are very hard to review because you can’t really judge someone’s story in their own words. So because of that, im not going to say much except that im really glad Jennette was able to write this book and get her story out there and I hope it was really cathartic for her and was able to give her some peace! She wrote her story beautifully and I’m very glad she was able to quit acting and start living for herself ♥️
Trigger warnings (probably not even close to all of them so definitely look them up before picking it up): parental abuse, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, and binging), alcoholism, ocd, anxiety, depression, parent death, panic attacks, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, etc.

I really enjoyed this book! Jennifer Dugan is an insta buy author for me so I was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint! I think my favorite thing about this book was how imperfect both of these girls were and how much they were able to learn and improve themselves throughout the story. I did spend half of the book frustrated with Morgan not being able to understand that not everyone has the luxury of being unapologetically themselves the way that she is but I loved being able to see her grow as the story progressed! I just wanted to protect Ruby from the world and for her to be able to do what she wanted for her life! I just think this was a really well written book about two girls from very different worlds that helped each other become the best versions of themselves. I very much recommend ☺️
