This was very meh šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I feel like the plot should’ve been more interesting but it was just kind of boring? And for a book that is short, it kind of dragged while also not really delving that deep into anything. I think the premise was great but it was just executed badly… and while Lana & Cleo had great physical chemistry, I didn’t feel a real emotion connection between them šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø it was basically them singing together then all of a sudden having sex once but then they couldn’t be together and all of a sudden they’re in love with no real conversations between any of it…

I love plum valley & it took me way too long to finally pick this one up but I loved it so much 🄺 While this book was very spicy, as expected, it was also so incredibly sweet! Hawthorne & Mateo both had so much baggage and insecurities but they complimented each other so well and were able to see through each other in a way that was truly so beautiful! I already can’t wait to dive into Will’s book!! 🄰

I need all of the platonic love stories!! Yall, the aroace rep in this book was fantastic! I especially loved that even though both Sophie & Jo are aroace, their experience with their identities was so different! And as an aroace person myself, I could see myself in both of them but my experience with my identity has also been so different than them as well. And on top of the aroace rep, there was also so much different rep with all of the side characters & with the stories that came from the Wanda & Wendy accounts! Also, the advice aspect of the book reminded me of another book that I adore (but it’s an smp title so I won’t name it) and I loved that!! The overall plot of the story wasn’t my favorite, it just stressed me out a little lol but besides that I loved it and I think it’s gonna be an important addition to aspec fiction šŸ’œ

This one is such a complicated one for me to review because I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either… I love The Deal so I was excited to read about one of Hannah & Garrett’s children and getting to see their interactions but it just kind of fell flat and there just wasn’t enough of them. I did like Gigi & Ryder, overall, once they got together and the story kept me invested once I got a few chapters in but idk I feel like this wasn’t plotted well? Like it had a basic premise but then once Gigi & Ryder started hooking up, it’s like the main two plot points were put on the back burner and then just randomly wrapped up at the end. And something happens in the last 15% that completely came out of left field and felt so pointless?

Also there’s just something about Kennedy’s writing that grates on me. I’ve read quite a few books by her at this point and while I will continue to love The Deal, I think this will be the last book of hers that I’ll read of hers. The way she writes feels so misogynistic, like she hates women and any kind of relationship that’s not strictly m/f. And like I assume she doesn’t because she has m/m books but just the way that she adds in conversations about certain things and the way pretty much all of her male characters speak. For example, Ryder calls women ā€œchicksā€ constantly and Gigi & Mya have a whole conversation about how they can’t understand threesomes or throuples or any other kind of ā€œunconventionalā€ relationship. And it’s just something that irks me šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Also this is probably more of a me thing but it stresses me out so much in m/f books when they ā€œaccidentallyā€ forgot to use a condom and then they’re like ā€œomg I’ve never forgotten to use one before, I’m just so obsessed with themā€ and the author uses it as a way to show that they have so much chemistry that they can’t even think when they’re together or that it means they’re meant to be. Personally, I don’t think that’s romantic or hot at all, like they should stay far away from each other lol and I just spend the rest of the book stressed that a surprise pregnancy trope is going to pop up šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

But yeah, I don’t know. This was fine but I’m gonna go back to my queer hockey romances šŸ˜‚

I’m not sure what I was expecting going into this book but I really enjoyed it! I haven’t read many mysteries lately because I’ve been let down by the last few I’ve read but this one kept me intrigued the whole time!! I loved both Pip & Ravi a lot and I’m excited to see where the rest of the series leads them! I did get a little confused a couple times, I think it’s mainly because there are a lot of characters so keeping them all separate was difficult at times! And I wish someone would’ve warned me about the dog 😭 besides that, this was really great and I get the hype!

I’ve loved all of F.T. Lukens books so I’m not surprised that I loved this one too! I think their characters are the shining points of their novels and this one was the same! It was so easy to love and root for Ellery & Knox from the first time you meet both of them and the way the story was going to unfold was never obvious which kept me invested throughout the story! I also loved the found family aspect of this one and the supernatural aspect was really interesting! This is one I’ll definitely recommend in the future ā˜ŗļø

I love this so so so much 😭 I don’t even know if I have the words but I just loved it so much! I’ve been yearning to get my hands on this one as soon as I finished DWYLABF in January and I couldn’t pick it up fast enough when I was approved for the ARC! I loved being in Bobby & James’ heads and getting to see them slowly fall in love 🄺 both Bobby & James were dealing with so much and felt so useless for so long and then they found each other and they trusted their found family and were able to make a life that they loved despite the odds being completely against them and seriously my heart is so full! Getting to see Bobby & James & Beth & Gwen & Albie & Meredith & Dashiell & Cordelia create the life that they wanted for themselves was a rollercoaster of emotions and humor and tears and swooning and everything in between! I love this motley crew of a family and I would happily read a hundred more stories in this world 🄰 I’ll probably have more to say over the next few months but for now, I just highly recommend & if you’re able to preorder for when it is released in August, you won’t regret it!

This book is so heartbreakingly messy in the most real way. Grief is so complicated and painful and everyone deals with it differently and that is so honestly told with each of the characters in this story. Liam was the perfect narrator and having to see how much they were struggling with was devastating 😭 there were points in the story where I just didn’t like each characters but I think that was so important because there are always points in peoples lives where they are at their worst and if you’re not allowed to be  unlikable while your grieving, I’m not sure when you can. Honestly, this is probably not a book I should’ve read right now when I’m personally not mentally at my best but making myself more sad when I’m down is something I’m way too good at šŸ˜… but anyway, this book was beautiful but please check trigger warnings before picking it up!
