who knew i'd relate to a spoiled white woman whose father i hate. i can't say this was well written. i won't say it, in fact. however, i really resonated with her feelings of loneliness, loss, confusion, identity conflict, and addiction / obsession. i wasn't expecting to... gain all that from reading this of all novels. i don't even know why i picked this up but it's a quick and easy read, though heavy in content.
why am i half way and there's no body gore or horror just gratuitous sex and annoying writing. dpmo.
i grew up with an insufferable grump and if i wanted to read about one i would manifest back to my childhood and experience that trauma all over again. no thanks.
Meh. Liked this one less than the other two books I read by him. Can't pinpoint why, exactly, but I know al the different timelines and such just got confusing and eventually got on my nerves.
sorry i cannot read a book like this right now. i'll come back
Loved it up until the end where we got no explanation for anything that just happened and felt like half of what we read was useless. The time skip was cheap and I didn't like how flat the conclusion was. Like was that it? Also, this being my second Crouch book, I come to learn I don't like his writing style but his ideas are SO intriguing. He also sucks at writing women. Peace and love.
edit: i thought on it and i realized this book was kind of stupid. jason makes stupid decisions. i really only liked the very beginning and i have serious issues with the rest of the book.
