It's a functional enough mystery with some good imagery at the climax, but the whole book about a group written by an outsider for outsiders featuring an outsider mc flavor is just not working for me here. And when the majority of your cast is native "the indian" is not a clarifying epithet.
I recieved this book over a decade ago on the occasion of my first black belt test, and it is special to me for that reason. It is a collection of martial arts wise anecdotes and while it's certainly better than garden variety facebook inspiration it doesn't benifit from being filtered through text and viewpoint. I don't need to hear you explain how it helped you play tennis. Also some of the mind of matter stuff is harmful and I have a medical conterindication to meditation so can't say it's super applicable
One of my best compliments for a book is that I have nothing else like it to scratch the same itch. In this case I have nothing so gentle and full of mythological variety and humanity that validates my 'I don't want to hurt the one who hurt me, just leave them behind' feels.
Pleasant and interesting with an ominious undertone
Also I am so here for two strike

I want to read this again when I am less dissociated. In the mean time read the synopsis and you can guees my thoughts if you know me. Also I love the cover
I liked it a lot. Topically intense but quick comfortable to read prose.
Finding the premise very interesting so far
