meh. some interesting bird facts but the author literally recommended planting bradford pears so… no thanks. Also some weird poetic waxing about peanut plantations (gross) and a consistent tokenized presentation of Indigenous peoples.

I wanted to love this but the ableism and outright hostility towards neurodivergent people was a shocking disappointment. Referring to people who are desensitized and causing harm to the environment as “ecologically autistic” is disgusting and only one example of this attitude that is throughout the book. There were some great sections but just when I would start to relax there would be another wild attack on neurodivergence… so disappointing.
