I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing. I didn't read the back, I waited for anything about this book online (such as on book tube) to die down before I even bought it. I put it on my list of 20 standalones to read in 2020 and only remembered that when I happened to see it on someone's shelf while watching one of their videos (not certain whose at this point).
Bottom of the line, I really enjoyed it. I really liked it. Read it in one day (a great way to spend St. Paddy's Day) and I have to say that I was a little taken by surprise by how it started. How it ended, I was almost certain I knew how it would go (so glad I was basically right). I am definitely going to do my best to see if I enjoy it nearly as much in another couple of years.
It's set in high school (with me being in my early 30's many of the ones I read grate on my nerves with the drama included) and that's all I'm going to say; well, that and the fact that the characters were very endearing to me, for the most part. It had a happy ending, but it left you knowing that things weren't going to settle down into a "normal" lifestyle after this adventure, either. I really enjoyed how it was wrapped up.
