The sequel to Dial A for Aunties was a wild ride just like you would expect. In the first book, the protagonist is on a date that ends very poorly and she has to solicit the help of her aunts to help her hide the body. Hijinks ensue. And in that first book she also rekindles love with an old flame. This book is about the wedding and without giving much away, it is hilarious and heartwarming. The ending brings redemption to the characters who need it and it was a great read.

I would give this book 10 stars if I could, I have never read something so concise and eloquent and beautiful. Our narrator Timothy is on probation after making a mistake at 12 years old. The story is told in verse, week by week through his one year house arrest. This is a phenomenal book and an absolute must read for anyone, not exclusively the middle grades target audience.

This psychological thriller was fun while a bit predictable. The main character is a 28 year makeup artist struggling financially. She becomes part of a research study on ethics that is mainly enrolling undergraduates. The story is told in alternating perspectives of the makeup artist and the research professor. I enjoyed the perspectives having a different narrative style, which was especially compelling in the audiobook. Overall a fun read.

This manga is a slow, detailed story of twenty somethings who feel aimless and dissatisfied. The art is great and the flashes back in time add depth to the characters. At times I felt the story was lacking purpose, but that is part of the subject matter. Overall, the end really brought things full circle for me and summed up what it can mean to find joy in a tumultuous season of life.

This is an adventure story of friends that touches on some major issues faced by teenagers and families of immigrants. The friendships in the book are realistic and enjoyable, and the characterization of side characters is also strong and compelling. I really enjoyed the dialect and tone of this novel, but for me the middle dragged and the resolution fell flat.
