This is probably a very unpopular opinion, but I sadly did not fall head over heels for Eleanor Oliphant. I thought it was a beautifully written book with humor and topics that need to be discussed, but I felt that it was very drawn out and slow In many places. I found myself having to force myself to keep reading which is not something I typically experience. There were points in the book that made it worth the read but Eleanor Oliphant was not totally for me. It was a great read that analyzes the complexities of social interactions and human relationships along with adding in the humorous commentary of Eleanor, a socially awkward woman. I still will recommend this book to those who enjoy literary fiction but it may not be for everyone depending on your enjoyment of slow burn books.

Wow! This is the second book I have ever read by Stephen King and I am truly impressed! I read "Carrie," a few months ago and was not as impressed as I thought I would be, but Pet Sematary really lived up to the hype. I was completely engaged in this book from the beginning and I can definitely see why everyone loved it. I really have never read a book that is considered horror, but I am glad this one was my first. Although I did read this at night, I was never too scared to go to bed... until the very end. The first 200 pages were very wordy, but I enjoyed the setting that King created to really immerse you in the story. The only reason this book is not a five star for me is because I felt the end was extremely rushed and difficult to follow in. That being said, in an introduction to the book, Stephen King explained how he considers this book to be one of his most frightening because of its relevance to his personal life and a road outside of his home in Maine. Definitely read this book if you have not because it is worth it.

Oh my goodness why did I not read this book sooner?! This book was one of my @bookofthemonth choices for December and I am so glad I added this one on. This book has easily become one of my top books of 2019 because it is so beautiful. This book makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you feel ALL feelings. Red, White and Royal Blue tells a beautiful love story between Alex, the first son of the United States, and Henry, the prince of Wales and through their story you get to read something so magical that it could only happen in a book. Alex and Henry are characters that show true courage and what it means to take pride in being who you are, while also navigating life in the public eye. I highly recommend this book because I am lost for words on how to describe it, but also because of the amazing and inclusive characters the book represents. This is a read for anyone because it is not only in the genre of New Adult, but it is also a romance and a comedy all at the same time. I will cherish this book for a long time and it will be one of my top recommendations going into the new year.

I feel like I am getting back into my reading groove and I am really excited to have a long weekend coming up soon so I can get some reading done! The Other Woman is my second read by @sandiejones_author and I really enjoyed it! Although The First Mistake is my favorite of her two books, The Other Woman also is a great domestic thriller. I really enjoyed the power struggle between mother-in-law and girlfriend and I thought it was a unique but familiar storyline for a lot of people. I personally was motivated to read every page because of all of the twists and turns in the book and I definitely did not guess the ending. The only thing that fell flat for me in the book was the quick ending because I would have loved for some of the loose ties to be better explained. That being said, if you’re looking for a fast paced thriller, this one is definitely something to check out and a fun read!

This book will be a hard one to review without giving away but I thoroughly enjoyed this book from front to back and I think it deserves all of the hype! This book instantly captured my attention and was the perfect domestic thriller to read if you are looking for something fast paced. This book is unique in that it tells the story of a couple that is impacted by a spree of killings and it is told through the eyes of the husband which is unusual for a domestic thriller. The only reason the book did not get five stars from me is because it felt a bit slow in the middle and then the end moved too fast to be able to keep track of. Overall, I highly recommend My Lovely Wife and it is possibly one of my favorite thrillers of the year!

Review!

{#partner} Thank you so much @duttonbooks for the copy of Reputation in exchange for an honest review.

Happy publishing day to Reputation by Sara Shepard! I instantly knew I wanted to read Reputation when I saw Sara was releasing a new book because I read all of the Pretty Little Liars books when I was in high school and lived for all of the drama and suspense. Reputation is no different with its premise of scandal and murder. I really enjoyed reading this one and read through it very quickly! I highly recommend this thriller if you are looking for something fast paced to read. The only reason this book was not a five star for me was because I had a hard time keeping track of all of the characters.
