OH HEY!!! I finished a book for the first time in forever!!

Granted, it's a very short, very sweet book, but I really enjoyed it!! Perfect for the start of the holiday season, I related so so much to Abbie and I wanted to hug her so bad, and Will was just... what a man, y'all. I might or might not be on the lookout for more holiday-themed romances now

There's no doubt in my mind that this book is going to stay with me forever.

I picked it up because it felt like something I needed to read at this point in my life - and I was proven absolutely right. I saw so much of myself in Nora and how she feels, and I cried both at the beginning and at the end of the story

you can tell by the way that i absolutely devoured this - I LOVED it and didn't want it to ever end ;;;;

Spoilerraise a hand if you also sobbed because you realized that no one will ever love you as much as frances janvier and aled last love each other?? no??? just me????

AND the fact that their r/s was kept platonic was SO so refreshing!! people ARE getting tired of boy/girl romances, aled, and you should SPEAK ON IT!!!! i just loved how their friendship blossomed, how they became each other's solace and safe space, how they just. got each other instantly. it's so so beautiful. and i'm so glad i got to experience it.

jsyk i've adopted all of these kids and i'm making sure they're all happy and thriving thanku

this was?? truly wonderful??? and now i need my own personal aaron blackford please and thank you (or as close to one as i can find)

Spoilermy one and only gripe with this story is that aaron almost seems?? too perfect? like he came straight from a fairytale and was programmed to be unflinchingly devoted to lina and head over heels in love from the start. which, don't get me wrong, i'm not saying men like him can't or don't exist, i'm just saying you'd be very hard-pressed to actually find one in real life. so that dulled it a little for me, personally, but i have no other complaints.
i really enjoyed my time with it, i loved how easy it was to read, and i really REALLY enjoyed all the spanish peppered throughout it which was always a delight (growing up on telenovelas pays off y'all)!!

I can now say with full certainty that I'll be reading everything that Talia Hibbert writes. THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!!

SpoilerI adored the relationship between Chloe and Red and how beautifully it developed. I even liked the problems that it had, because I finally had the privilege of reading about two people mature enough to not only recognize those problems, but also fix them together!!!!

Not to mention the fact that Chloe has quickly become one of my favorite characters in the world - as much as I relate to her closing herself off to avoid more pain, I'm very grateful that I now have a role model to look up to that will show me the strength in not doing that. It's scary, and it's the hardest thing we could do, but it's worth it. I just hope one day I find my people, and my own Red.

I'm beyond excited to continue on with the series and read Dani and Eve's stories!!
