SO MANY FEELINGS
I wish I could make all this text bi flag-coloured because let me tell you, the fact that we have an Actual Bisexual Main Character is just. Crazy. And amazing. And crazy amazing. I don't even know where to begin. LEAH IS ME AND I ADORE HER
I know I said that 'Simon' was the book that made me smile most this year, but this is a very close second. I was so excited to see things from Leah's perspective and get into her head, and I honestly did not come into this with super-high expectations (probably because I knew I was going to love it no matter what just because, come on, she's bi, she drums, she draws, and she's a Slytherin. Again, She Is Me!!!). Safe to say that I was kinda blown away a little. I don't know how many times I can say that I loved Leah to pieces but I loved Leah so damn much??
Like, yes, I expected cutesy and contemporary and heartwarming but maybe this kind of stories are exactly what we need right now. Cutesy, heartwarming stories that feature LGBT+ couples. I was also a really huge fan of how Abby was portrayed this time around, just a little bit clueless, very questioning and just having a ton of feelings that she didn't know what to do with (this sounds like Leah as well, and you know who else? YOU GUESSED IT, ME!!!)
I related to so many aspects of this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A very strong sequel.

YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL?? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT STATE MY POOR HEART IS IN RIGHT NOW???! IF YOU SAID 'FRAGILE' THEN YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!!
I can't believe this book ended like it did. I CANNOT even tell you how completely HEART-WRENCHING it was (but also? I got why it needed to happen. It was SO good.) Honestly I don't think I have any words to talk about this book because it's all just gonna turn into INCOHERENT SCREAMING and 'IT WAS SO AMAZING' but it really, really was. Even though it was my first experience with Nicola Yoon's books and I didn't know what I was getting into, I think that just added to my experience and just made me love this even more. Absolutely adored it (can't believe it took me this long to read it??).

OH MY HEART. MY KORRASAMI HEART.
After finishing 'The Legend of Korra' for the second time I HAD to get right into this and continue with the story - AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. I love this world so much, and I love that the relationship between Korra and Asami is further developed in these comics. I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AND I'M SO HAPPY IT EXISTS.

This definitely packed a lot in a short format!!
I love the more action-y moments in this volume, and I also loved the little moment when Korra and Asami didn't know how to Deal a little bit (disaster bis at your service).

I HAVE SOME FEELINGS ABOUT THIS NOVEL AND I'M ABOUT TO WORD VOMIT A LITTLE BIT.
First of all, from the SECOND I started reading I saw myself in the main character - both with dark hair (but I envy her blue eyes), we're both Small, we're both Cute (even though, in my case, I hate being cute), and we both have a love for books. LUCY IS ME TO A T and I instantly loved her because of it. I also resonated with her character because, like her, I'm also Super Nice to a fault and would much rather take some extra work on myself to help/please other people. I relate to her inability to speak up for herself sometimes, and yet again, it just makes her more endearing.
ENTER JOSHUA, WHO PROBABLY HAS THE EXACT SAME OPINION OF LUCY AS I DO. God I have no clue why I'm such a sucker for the dark, mysterious, brooding, a little unavailable, a little cocky, JUST bad enough love interest because WOW. I loved Joshua too, and I loved his character development throughout the novel. Finally getting him right alongside Lucy was so satisfying!! It all clicked!! And it just made me want my own Joshua even more!!!!!!!
I admit that the plot wasn't anything revolutionary or unique - the hate-to-love trope is not that uncommon, BUT the whole novel was written in such a sassy, sarcastic, 'I gotta beat you I gotta be the one to win always' way that it just keeps you wanting more, and more, and MORE! Not to mention the many moments in which I physically squealed or slapped my thighs in frustration because Lucy the man is clearly in love with you how are you not getting it yet!!!! The banter between the two and the one-liners and the way in which they just... went with each other's energy from the Very Beginning just fuelled my soul, it was so wonderful. And also, my GOD this was the slowest burn in HISTORY. AND I LOVED IT.
If you need something easy, funny, a little raunchy and very sweet, pick this one up!!

I don't think words could ever do justice to how amazing and important this book is, for me and for SO many people around the world. I loved Starr, I loved her story, I felt every single emotion she experienced, I ached for Khalil, and, like Starr, I vowed to do better.
I've always been passionate about the Black Lives Matter movement, and finally reading 'The Hate U Give' cemented that belief. In today's society, we need books like Angie's. We need stories by and about Black people in order to even BEGIN to understand what they're still going through. And while, as a white female, I can't possibly ever understand, I promise I'll keep listening and I'll keep fighting with you all. Lead the way.

I have. Absolutely no words. I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS WORLD AND WITH VICTORIA SCHWAB.
I was so invested in the story, so invested in the characters, and while I did have some minor issues with the pacing in some sections I think the plot was very well thought-out and spread out throughout the book and the sheer originality and wonderfulness of everything that I was reading certainly more than made up for it!! The action kept me engaged at all times, the characters were all incredibly well constructed, the villains were also super compelling, I WANT TO MARRY DELILAH BARD. AND THAT'S NOT SOMETHING I SAY LIGHTLY AT ALL. I CAN'T WAIT TO DIVE INTO THE SECOND VOLUME.

Also, Lila is Antari and I won't hear anything else of it okay thank you
I... honestly have no words.
After so much time, after so many hours, days, weeks, I finished this masterpiece. And it is, truly, a masterpiece. Even though it was school-required, and even though that made me impossibly frustrated with it at times, it is certainly one of the most amazing, incredible books I've ever read. Victor Hugo is nothing short of a genius.
(I cried towards the end. If you read this, be ready.)

Gripping, emotional, terrifying and hard to read at times but so, so important. And yes, it's way better than the TV show.
