I was interested in learning more about the Amish culture and when this popped up in my recommendations, naturally, I had to check it out. I was disappointed to see that my interest in the novel waivered at points. Wagler's struggles are repetitive and there were points where I really just wanted him to make up his mind already so the book could be over. I did find it interesting to learn about the varying degrees in different Amish settlements and a brief overview of the culture but feel like I can't fully rely on it since it is just his biased opinion.
