i decided to read all 35 books in the rinaverse in chronological order and the fact that it ends with this one, what a fucking disappointing way to end an era. good riddance.

from the beginning, i really couldn’t care less about reading aiden 2.0 x colesilver spawn even if they were shipped from the beginning as children and are the reason why this second gen series was created. they were just so forgettable to me throughout the previous books that it made me so indifferent to their story. my lack of interest in them was warranted.

i knew this was so fucking bad early on but kept reading in hopes of there being something notable. there wasn’t.

eliava’s story was:
- adrianlia from shien
- lies & truth duet from aliexpress
- kingdom duet from wish
- the entire log series from princesspolly

also rk must’ve read nicoelena or something because there was so many dialogue that—[GUNSHOT]

eli king:
- no personality
- cringey controlling “alpha male” asshole for no reason
- aiden 2.0 but more annoying

ava nash king:
- spoiled brat (derogatory)
- piece of shit that drives while drunk and high on drugs
- bootleg alicia king (if she had lived) and lia volkov (but worse)

🚩 what truly cemented the one-star rating was rk’s weird ass hymen kink, i.e. ava was a virgin because of course she was—as was every other fmc in the log series. *YAWN*

“Broken beauty has always been the most haunting.”

not only that, rk needs to stop. it’s so insane how she writes about mental health and how it varies between her mmc and fmc because of her extreme misogyny. the men get to be unfeeling, socio/psychopathic violet narcissists while still being functioning members of society while the women are always hysterical, delusional, amnesiac depressed and dependent solely on the mmc. what gives?

in her stories, rk goes to extreme lengths to villainize mental health care treatment to the point of making her fmcs attempt suicide and when they almost succeed, that’s when they start taking treatment seriously because the mmc–who was initially opposed to treatment–realizes he can’t live without her and drags her hallucinating ass to therapy to get better.

all her mentally ill characters need to stop reproducing!!!

the only part i liked was jercecy’s wedding in the first epilogue, everything else was garbage.

anyways Y’ALL I’M FINALLY FREE!!!!!

the mmc was so downbad and obsessed with the fmc, that most of the book was him waiting for her to catch up to his feelings. it was so good and hot.

which is why i don’t know why there was so much negativity around this book, truly they’re so dramatic.

like i wasn’t looking for anything life changing. just a cute, silly, hot contemporary romance. and it was what i was looking for. not every book has to be a literary masterpiece!!! some of us just want some little escapism in the form of a little romance book.

dr. sue siebert, the fmc, really reminded me of dr. temperance brennan from bones, who i adored. especially with the way she communicated and understood (or didn’t catch) social cues.

if i ever i find my own eli killgore... don’t know what i’ll do. that man was the definition of boy-obsessed and horny. he was also so patient and understanding... ali truly knows how to write some amazing mmcs.

aaaaand… this was another “psychopathic” rich white guy with antisocial behavior who tried so hard to be edgy but was just corny af.

this was the same recycled tropes from the previous books in the series, but just more awful, terrible, ableist, and misogynistic. not only that, landon and mia’s relationship was just so fucking boring. literally copy-and-pasted from her previous books. not only were they boring, the whole book itself was boringgggggg to the point of tears.

the way landon only viewed women as holes to be used made me want to throw him off a cliff jfc he was so much more disgusting and insufferable than any other rk mmc. he is not capable of loving and the fact that rk tried so hard to make it seem like he loved mia, it’s not possible. he’s so full of himself to even try to be in love with someone and i felt so bad for mia in the beginning. until i didn’t. after that stupid ass “plot twist”, she chose him over her literal twin sister. now, mia can also fuck off.

like name a better duo than rk and ruining female relationships for no good reason then not resolving it properly, namely in this book: mia and maya. i’ll never forgive her for doing that to them and to so many other fmcs. she’s such a misogynistic loser :)

if maya sokolov has a million fans, then i am one of them. if maya sokolov has ten fans, then i am one of them. if maya sokolov has only one fan then that is me. if maya sokolov has no fans, then that means i am no longer on earth. if the world is against maya sokolov, then i am against the world.

the only part of the books i enjoyed were gareth, killian, and nikolai’s bond with maya and mia <3

rk needs to come up with some new ideas at this point if every mmc is going to be the same. i have no idea how landon is her favorite, he was the most boring. *big yawn*

after much thought after reading, i’ve collected some of my thoughts. the main one being: i’ll never understand people who read about a morally black character and then get offended when said character (e.g. killian) does something morally black. was it wrong? yes. am i shocked or clutching my pearls? no.

killian was funny and charming tbh... glyn was… okay. i wish she had more personality than just her inferiority complex and mental health issues but she’s a woman and rk doesn’t know how to add character to the fmcs without making them crazy

i liked this way more than i thought i would and this is probably my most annotated book on kindle to date???

pain. i felt just pure pain while reading this.

princess annika should’ve aimed in between creigh’s eyes the moment he treated her like shit for something she had no involvement in and happened before she was even born. then i really hated him so bad for putting her in a position of having to choose between her family or him, a guy she’s barely known for like 2 months. like bffr. then he gets mad when she chose her brother! ridiculous.

maybe rk shouldn’t have combined her two worlds… because in what universe is a rich, entitled white guy who peaked as a high school bully supposed to be more intimidating and feared than a man who was bred, born, and raised in, and is one of the important pillars of one of the world’s biggest criminal organizations? that scene between aiden and adrian made me burst out laughing because of how unserious it was. adrian should’ve unalived aiden right then and there.

only one star for adrianlia, jonathanaurora, ethanagnus, jercecy, and nikobran crumbs. thank fuck it’s over !
