Addicting and shocking. Camille Preaker was such a real character, hauntingly so, that I wanted to know her, occasionally related to her, was horrified for her, and even pitied her. I don’t know if pity is what Gillian Flynn was going for, but she got it anyway! ;) This is one of my favorite books of all time. Definitely worth reading!
Dark Places was . . . well, dark! Everything about this story was just so dark that I would cringe. As I was reading it there were times when I was appalled, which I suppose is the reason why I gave it 3 Stars. But that’s a personal preference. I still thought it was a good book and highly recommend it if you love dark, gruesome stories.
Gone Girl is a very good book. It highlights the secrets in a marriage and makes you question how much you really know people in your life. Gillian Flynn does a great job hiding who the killer is and who is telling the truth. She also did a wonderful job revealing a character’s psychosis to the point where you just can’t believe the character did those things. I just didn’t favor the end because I wanted there to be some form of punishment. This book is still worth reading though!
Geena Bean spins a marvelous tale about a little girl, Kaylee, who wants to find out why the sun has been missing for so long, leaving the world in a lasting gloom. The rhyming is clever, not overworked like a lot of rhyming can be, and incredibly fun.
Along with her little sister, Mattie, and her best friends, Lilly and Fran, Kaylee implements a lavish plan to speak to the moon in the hope of bringing the sun's shining rays back.
This is a wonderful story that can teach parents and children the importance of playing outdoors instead of watching TV, playing video games, or spending time on cell phones and computers. Come Back Dear Sun is an enjoyable read with bright illustrations that'll make you want to spend time playing in the sun.

Beautiful, sensual, magical, and WICCAN! Dylan Newton casts a marvelous spell with Any Witch Way. I loved Lily from the first sentence. She was refreshing and delightful. Her curse, which ruins all of her relationships with men, is clever and quite funny at times. I just about died laughing when I read what she had done to her ex boyfriend. Then when Joshua makes his appearance I was immediately intrigued. I loved his mystery, passion, and centuries-old mannerism. Whenever the two of them were together, I was on pins and needles. Kristin, Lily's housemate, also added something special to the story. I enjoyed every page!
I give Any Witch Way 5 pentagrams!

Alone No More started out sweet and then became amazing. It was just what I needed. I sympathized with Cara. Her gentleness and youth made it impossible not to like her and feel sorry for her situation. She was written so believably well that I could’ve sworn her thoughts and emotions were my own.
As soon as James Elliot made his appearance I dare say I was taken by him instantly. And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to smell the scent of cloves in the same way again. ;)
I loved the confrontation between Cara’s stalker and James. The growing tension for what Mr. Collins would try next kept me glued to my seat. My jaw literally dropped once, my heart breaking for Cara. And I was biting my nails during the climax.
Alone No More is a great read full of emotion, real-to-life suspense, and old-fashioned romance. I didn’t hesitate to give it 5 stars, and it became a favorite before I even finished reading. Highly recommended! Ladies, you have to read this one!

I loved Nothing to Tell from the very first sentence! Mike's voice is great and I laughed at nearly every other line. I am almost surprised a woman wrote him. Almost. Ashelyn Drake is an amazing writer! She pulled me into Mike's story as effortlessly as you pull a cord to turn on a light. Mike and his best friend, Mindy, felt so real. And the story she tells is so refreshing because it's not a typical romance. She did a wonderful job at switching the roles of men and women in a relationship, or at least what we believe are normal male and female roles. This is one story where you're glad there isn't a "happy ending"! I can’t wait to read the other books in the Campus Crush series. ;)
Journey of the Magi is a lighthearted, sweet romance that will warm you down to your toes. I giggled at the funny moments Barbara Edwards created, and enjoyed Dan and Noel, as well as the children, Holly and Nicholas. While I was reading the first chapter I actually felt cold . . . in Florida heat. I loved the fact that Noel didn’t think Dan was handsome at first, which was refreshing but like Noel I fell for Dan’s compassionate ways. I wish there were more men like him! I was caught off guard by the climax, a good thing, and I think the end was perfect.

The Last Straw was intriguing from the first page. Who exactly is Mark Daily, AKA Darren Ray, and what happened between him and Ally?
Nia Simone is an excellent storyteller. The Last Straw is written with a level of perfection you expect from NYT bestselling authors. And her characters are so well developed they seem real. I truly enjoyed the interactions with the characters and the sweet romance. Every few lines I read something that made me smile or laugh, which was a pleasant bonus. 4.5 stars!

This was a really good book. When I read the beginning, my jaw dropped twice. First when the author was describing what happened to the car after the truck plowed into it. The second time was when I was reading the part where Mia found her father.
I think Gayle Forman did an amazing job describing Mia's surgery and what it’s like being a patient in the ICU. I would've liked a little more "outer body" experience, but the story was captivating without it. And I loved the ending.
There was one thing that bothered me though . .. I noticed some spelling errors/missing words in the text of my copy. Even with these slight mistakes I still enjoyed the story and thought the author wrote exceptionally well.
Confession: I did tear up a couple of times while reading, although I did not break down into a sobbing mess. lol So if you cry easily, have a tissue ready.
