Honestly, I was a bit disappointed by this book. I read (and absolutely adored) the Six of Crows duology, so I had very high expectations for this book. I was especially excited that it was written in 1st person (which is my favorite POV). But something about the writing just fell flat for me. I loved the storyline—Leigh Bardugo is a master of plot and world building—but the actual prose felt stilted, and I felt as if it relied too heavily on passive verbs. Definitely still planning to finish the series, though.
